Who is Legacy

What another exciting month it has been around the Legacy office. God has blessed the work of our hands in so many ways and we are thankful to the hundreds of people who support Legacy, both financially and prayerfully, that have become a part of that work. As I thought about what to write this month, God really began to focus my thoughts on how those people are a vital part of what God is doing through Legacy.
There are so many people who are a part of this ministry. Whenever I am talking to pastors or youth ministers about Legacy, I always talk about what we do and our vision. One of the things that they often ask is “who is we?”
We are a small ministry and most people understand that we do not have a big staff and nice offices. All most people ever see is me, out talking about the ministry, teaching and preaching. We are often limited in what we are able to do because our resources are limited and we do not have a large staff working behind the scenes to get me everywhere I need to be.
However, what we do is important and Legacy has gained a voice in the areas of Youth and Family Ministry. We have invested in the lives of hundreds of leaders and in turn thousands of students. When people ask who are we, I tell them that Legacy is made up of me, and my wife runs the office. We have a wonderful Board of Directors who help lead the ministry and we have several people who volunteer regularly to help us with our events. We have a great relationship with partners in ministry like Four Days Late who help promote the ministry and provide quality events. We are a network of partner churches who work together to develop leaders for the next generation. We are a team of partner churches who support the ministry with their prayers and resources. We are an army of prayer partners who go before the Father on Legacy’s behalf. We are a growing support team who are stewards of God’s provision of time and resources.
When I tell people all of this they are surprised and they understand why Legacy is committed to being a ministry of service and sacrifice.
We have been on this wonderful adventure with God for five years and it has been exceedingly humbling. God has given us a vision and passion to share with His people and He has caused many of them to become a part of that vision and passion for investing in the lives of young people.
I often say that we could not do what we do without those who support the work of the ministry. The truth is God has brought us together for such a time as this that He might work through us.
