It was a blessing to be able to attend and participate in the reThink '08 Conference in North Carolina this past weekend. Though I am friends with many of the people involved, I did not really know what to expect. What I got was more than I expected. It was a great environment and the messages were inspiring and clear. The gist of the thing is that God established the family as the primary means for generational faithfulness and He instituted the Church as an instrument and aid in that calling. As the family has lost its identity in our culture so has the church. The time has come to regain these biblical identities for which each institution was established and for them to partner together to promote generational faithfulness.
I could tell you all about it. However, there is a great blog by Alex Chediak that gives you notes and highlights of each session. Check it out and pay particular attention to the sessions by Randy Stinson and Steve Wright, who will be featured speakers at the Legacy Student Leaders Conference in August.
